Left home this morning was dark sky and foggy...staying tonight at Murrayville CP...shock price went from $9.90 to $18 night powered site for 2 ppl......theres 2 new cabins and new BBQ and Fire Service storage tank ...they also have fire hose red boxes now

Early start leaving Murrayville about 8am....very foggy and cloudy morning.....212klms trip to Green Lake about 12klms south of Sea Lake.......been here several times before $20 night powered with toilets and showers...we had a campfire tonight....Rosie cooked a pork roast in campoven for dinner......no one else has turned up tonight only us here

Woke to a heavy dew morning that turned overcast by lunch time.....it tried to rain most of the afternoon......so we set a campfire going by 2pm.....by 3:30pm we had campoven going cooking meat loaf...had it finished in time (4:30pm) to see rain start pouring down
Glad we are on power ...could reheat in microwave dinner time...Over night the fridge freezer packed it

another wet damp day.....Rosie did a load of washing in the laundry $3 load......hung it out on line only to see it drizzle all day...luckly there was also a tumble drier at $2 load.to get most dry.......I spent most of day looking at an old farm house ruin..hoping to find some hidden treasures but no luck....a motorhome turned up tonight...parked near us....we move on tomorrow...Fridge temp was 10c all day....frozen meat thawed and icecream turned to milk.......tonight tried fridge on gas working on that so must be 240v element gone

We were on the road by 9:45am Vic time......called in to see our friend at Berriwillock ...then headed to Wycheproof where we went to the Bakery on the main road...bought 2 pies....wooow!!! they must been 3" thick....great amount in the curry one the other was mince meat with mash potato on top with bacon pieces on top of that...We are now at Wooroonook Lakes....been here several times before....had a campfire tonight

Still here....been very wet day and very cold windy one too.....started out nice earlier today.........tomorrow we are heading to Boort

Packed up and were on the road by 9am....was very wet morning....called in to Charlton got extra food and I bought a boot scraper..... fed up trying to get mud off shoes....We headed to Boort only to find the CP there full of cabins........about 80...and room for 8 caravans.......we had a look at the showgrounds but were to wet and slopy but had power for donation..toilets only too...so onward we travelled and ended up at Pyramid Hill...48klms on...after getting lost we came across a little caravan park...$15 night powered site with toilets/showers/laundry...staying here 2 nights..Rosie did load of washing then we went for a walk to Pyramid Hill it self just up the road from the CP

Still here.....woke to foggy morning that turned to drizzle....Rosie went for a walk to the Pyramid Hill again.cause her camera batteries went flat yesterday...Not much action today ...its just too wet.....might stay extra night till weather improves

Still here another wet day....Rosie went for a walk to the Hill again...up to summit this time....not much excitement today...old couple stopped in just to ask about our van..thats about it......moving on tomorrow

Got on road early and headed south to Bridgewater....only to find a CP there...so on to Newbridge...where ppl were camping at rear of oval next to Loddon River...too busy for us so on we went to Tarnagulla...was $5 night..small area by some sort of oval..not level area...onward we went...next came Moliagul...at the intersection of several roads has toilets a bbq and water tank...opposite Rev John Flynn memorial...he was born opposite it ...the house is ruins as a peppercorn tree has taken over it...up the road is the WELCOME STRANGER gold nugget was found....

Still here...started out beautiful day but by 9am it started raining .and continued off and on all day.....its pretty cold tonight without power....I found what might be a spot near a lake 10klms away at Bealiba Reservoir.....we will have a look tomorrow

Left Moliagul this morning...had a look at WELCOME STRANGERS site then headed to Bealida...was too boggy and not many sites...so headed north to Melville Caves but struck 50 Orienteering oldies and packed with campers.........so onward we went...finally staying few nights at Inglewood CP....has ensuites $30 night powered

We woke to a freezing morning 0c inside the van...nice day so we walked into town...(I bought an old pressure cooker $20) we had a look at all the brickabrat shops in main street ....in the afternoon we had a stroll through the gold diggings behind the CP.must been thousands of miners there seeing all the dirt mounds around just about every tree

Woke to another freezing morning 1c in van...Rosie did washing though you couldnt see her in the fog hanging it out...later she went to the IGA to stock up.....in afternoon we went back to the diggings and found a lake we were looking for yesterday
off tomorrow might be back to Wooroonook Lakes for couple days before heading home

Woke to freezing morning..the pajero was iced over.....we packed up and headed off....stopping at Hard Hill Wedderburn to look at camp site....might put it on future stay list.........then headed to Wooroonook Lakes and settled in.....no one here all day or evening...we been sitting by a campfire all day...Rosie made pies in campoven tonight for dinner

Woke to a wet horrid day that continued all day and evening....cant believe that idiots chucked bottles and cans in to camp fire and then someone removed the drum.leaving broken bottles everywhere...cant they walk 10ft and put them in rubbish bins provided...this behavior will lead to yet another place being closed to campers GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!...Rosie collected a shopping bag full of glass and put it in bin......."why would you do it..what would you say if its your kid that cut their feet cause what you done"

Woke to another wet horrid day ...so we decided to head home...getting home around 3pm ...very wet trip home via lot of back roads to Dimboola Victoria

Yorke Peninsula Trip
Sunday 1st May
Left home after a stormy night.at 7:30am......headed north...and over to Yorke Penn..head wind all the way....watching fuel gauge dropping fast.......first port of call was Arthurton...camp behind a Church.....but so windy we continued on and arrived at Maitland Showgrounds......parked by a shed......power/toilets/showers...$15 night
Monday 2nd Day2
Still here....still windy but not raining.......got chatting to several vanners..nice lot...the caretaker turns up early evening to take your money....and yes he gives out receipts (very nice too)
Tuesday 3rd Day3
Still here......stormy day predicted so we stayed put.....it rained most of the day...this morning we played dominos....this afternoon we had a get together happy hour with 3 other couples in a shelter...bloody cold and windy day
Wednesday 4th Day4
We left Maitland this morning...dropping into Ardrossan...get few things from Foodland then headed down to Pine Point to Black Point.....set up only to have Rosie chuck the pajero keys on to back seat floor...where we keep them so I can lock it when I put the camp chairs in at night......well this time.they slipped close to door and got jammed when closing door...locking the pajero at same time.......wheres the mobile phones..yep on dash board.....my wallet with RAA card..there too.....finally got a Council worker and borrowed his phone..RAA came got it unlocked ...all good...we are here 5 nights pay only for 4 at $20 night powered

Woke to a great morning.....sky was clear...no wind..........but by 9am the wind picked up and blew all day...but sky was blue........Rosie did a load of washing at the laundry $4 load.......hung it out and was dry real fast...not much happened today.

we are on our own today.....neighbors left this morning......lovely day...blue sky..slight wind..lot of boaties came and went today.....not much else happened........Rosie went for her dayly walk

Woke to totally fogged in morning....by lunch time it cleared..but the wind picked up and storm started.....wind and rain full on....old couple turned up around 4pm in one those utes with motorhome back on it.parked reverse to the ocean .
Rang Burnie...he is hoping to get to Point Turton wednesday..We may spend Monday night at Port Julia...possibly wednesday night at Warooka ...we shall see....all depends on what its like for Burnie at Point Turton when he gets there
Sunday 8th Day8 (Mothers Day)
It blew all night...worst around 4am.......grey overcast day all day.no rain as such...tried but nothing...4pm blue sky so we sat outside for 1 hour and headed inside as wind picked up again....Rosie went for a walk.thinking she would return via the beach...WRONG...the sea was 3mtrs high and crashing into the sand hill below us....not to good....Tomorrow we are off to Port Julia....no power that might be a challenge after 8 days with it

Woke to a stormy morning....100kph winds hitting the van hard....there's no way I would tow the van in this wind....but others did...2 lots that turned up last night left about 11am...RAIN and more RAIN this afternoon....that I can handle...but the wind..NO WAY........so stayed here today....see how it goes tomorrow if we move on...just looked at the high tide....the shelter is almost totally under water tonight

We left Black Point this morning...windy trip.....but stopped in to Port Julia...had a look at the camp area and decided to travel on...keeping the place for future place to camp....
Stopped at Yorketown to get food and fuel.....no frozen food as freezers have died at Foodland...plus no diesel either so on we went..Got fuel from garage at Warooka ...and am staying at the campground on edge of oval...has toilet...donation of $5 night ...Burnie leaving home tomorrow......the storm hit him badly...carport roof lifted and loss power ..circuit kept tripping
Good day today...I even put portable solar panel out to charge the extra battery running the waeco fridge

We packed up early ...Rosie got few things from Foodworks....then we headed down to Point Turton ourselves....long trip of all of 9klms.....stopped in to the general store bakery and got couple home made pies for lunch
Got a park behind Burnie...set up and relaxed...Rosie did a load of washing....was overcast and windy

Woke to a brilliant morning..spent day chatting with each other..tonight we went to the Tavern above the CP for dinner
Saturday 14th Day14
Not much happening today....had a look through a neighbours Goldstream 17ft single axle van.....not bad but very heavy towball weight 265kg
We are moving on tomorrow

We packed up and were on the road by 9am.....went through Warooka.Yorketown. had a look at Stansbury and Pt Vincent....and are now at Port Julia campground $7 night....no power......we paid the caretaker $40 for a week but might not stay that long...those that are here all have dogs and generators going all day

Day started out stormy and wet.......then by late morning....we got blue sky and very strong winds all day....but we managed to solar charge 3 mobiles and 2 laptops by 2:30pm.......used the smokeyjoe with a bedourie to cook dinner tonight with heatbeads ...2 meat loafs was delis

Still here......not a bad day....some wind and cloud.....Rosie cooked 2 steak & mushroom pies tonight....heat beads didn't work that well tonight....maybe cause there was no wind at all to keep them going...after 30mins they were out...the pastry didn't cook or brown

Still here.........boring day......helped Paul the Caretaker fix the locks on the dunny doors.....put the smokeyjoe away and got the new 2 burner gas cooker out and used it today

Still here.....most excitement was the green grocer doing his rounds.....we got food from him when we were at Black Point a week ago....day was mostly cloudy......and couple sprinkles of rain tonight

March trip to Victoria first for 2016
Wednesday 2nd March Day1
Left home early and went to Milang...handed my Firefighting gear to my mate Allan.....then headed to Victoria...arriving at Plantation Camp Grounds in the Grampians...had a look around.(we been here before) found a place about 300 ft by 100ft only one other camper there an Ultimate..no one else here..set up ...then a LC with a new caravan arrived...its Ok they parked well away from us

We met John and Jen from new caravan.....and Brian and partner from Ultimate CT......was a good day...pity I got sun burnt..its been very hot 40c....still 38c at night....talking of that........8pm till midnight....backpackers turned up.....why do they have to park right next to you.....its 38c and they lit a campfire.....plus chatting till 1am

Hot again......not much changed......chasing shade.......more back packers tonight....this time a whiz-banger 2ft from our spare tyre.....We gotta get out of here

Rosie washed clothing today....we thought we have the place to ourselves but 2 SA'ns with caravans turned up 4pm..we sat by the choofer till 10pm then off to bed

I tried my luck with the Drone I got Xmas time......need lot of practice ...plus I lost the 32Gig memory card that was sticking out the back of the drone.........$75 gone...

Not a lot happening......we are running low on supplies including gas for cooking and running fridge......Rosie said we need food too....

we started packing things we didnt need tonight....still warm plus light showers too
Monday 21st Day20
Packed up early in morning to get away.....only to find we got a flat battery......I tried my jumpstarter we been carrying around for 5 years...only to find it wasnt powerful enough....so we rang the RACV and waited 2.1/2 hours for them to turn up...you got a flat battery he said.....he tried his jumpstarter that didnt work so he jumper lead it of his vehicle and we were a goer.....next port of call was Edenhope...to the Auto electricians to get new battery......he stuffed up and wiped some of the pajero's computer.......after an hour we were mobile again....Rosie got food from Food Works while I got 1 x 9kg and 1 x 4kg cylinders filled the 9kg was down 4kg.it cost me $43 for that 4kg in gas....the 4kg cylinder was $15 to fill.........OUCH!!!....
we decided Cockatoo Lake would be to crowded...so returned to Lake Ratzcastle arriving we chose to go further down into the swampy area...just as well lot turned up

Warm day but cooled down fast..I dug a fire pit so Rosie could cook dinner on it tonight...we sat by it till late.....more and more turned up...parking where we did before

More turned up today including a couple with new Colorado and big Jayco van....about 20ft from us..they left the ute running for at least 25mins WHY???...they had their van set up and left ute running all that time
Our friend Graeme turned up today..with a new to him caravan...bigger than his old one.

We packed up early and headed to Naracoorte to do some shopping then out to Black Cockatoo Bush Camp......we been here so many times since 2007.....lost count could be 18 times

Not a lot happening......we are running low on supplies including gas for cooking and running fridge......Rosie said we need food too....

we started packing things we didnt need tonight....still warm plus light showers too
Monday 21st Day20
Packed up early in morning to get away.....only to find we got a flat battery......I tried my jumpstarter we been carrying around for 5 years...only to find it wasnt powerful enough....so we rang the RACV and waited 2.1/2 hours for them to turn up...you got a flat battery he said.....he tried his jumpstarter that didnt work so he jumper lead it of his vehicle and we were a goer.....next port of call was Edenhope...to the Auto electricians to get new battery......he stuffed up and wiped some of the pajero's computer.......after an hour we were mobile again....Rosie got food from Food Works while I got 1 x 9kg and 1 x 4kg cylinders filled the 9kg was down 4kg.it cost me $43 for that 4kg in gas....the 4kg cylinder was $15 to fill.........OUCH!!!....
we decided Cockatoo Lake would be to crowded...so returned to Lake Ratzcastle arriving we chose to go further down into the swampy area...just as well lot turned up

Tuesday 22nd Day21
Warm day but cooled down fast..I dug a fire pit so Rosie could cook dinner on it tonight...we sat by it till late.....more and more turned up...parking where we did before
Wednesday 23rd Day22
More turned up today including a couple with new Colorado and big Jayco van....about 20ft from us..they left the ute running for at least 25mins WHY???...they had their van set up and left ute running all that time
Our friend Graeme turned up today..with a new to him caravan...bigger than his old one.
We had an early night

Thursday 24th Day23 (Easter)
We packed up early and headed to Naracoorte to do some shopping then out to Black Cockatoo Bush Camp......we been here so many times since 2007.....lost count could be 18 times

We had visitors...Dennis and Therese from Naracoorte dropped in........was good to catch up again with them
we weren't alone
Saturday 26th Day25
Not much happening.....chatting with Liz and Ken.....heading home tomorrow....got Drs and Hospital this week

Packed up early.......got home by 1pm...we got a lot of sorting things out...want to take our Waeco fridge next time....that means extra battery and solar.......plus a box for storage on roof basket...and gas bottle tie downs too......thinking...thinking
Next trip ...when.....where...who knows???
